When will the narcissist give up?
1. When They Find a New Source of Supply:
If a narcissist finds someone or something else that satisfies their need for attention or admiration, they might shift their focus away from you. This could lead them to give up on trying to maintain a connection with you.
2. When Their Efforts Fail:
A narcissist may eventually give up if they keep trying in vain to dominate you or get a reaction from you. For instance, if you constantly establish limits and refrain from using their deceptive methods, they may come to the realization that their methods are ineffective.
3.When They Lose Interest:
Narcissists often thrive on excitement and novelty. They may decide to move on to whatever they find it more stimulating if they get bored or lose interest in you
4. When You Establish Strong Boundaries:
Persistence in their behaviors comes from knowing that they can manipulate or have control over you. If you set up firm and clear boundaries, they may eventually give up as they find it less rewarding trying to cross them.
5. Physical attractiveness and new sexual attraction:
Narcissists may look for someone with physical or sexual attractiveness and leave the current relationship if they find such a person.
6. Lack of sexual satisfaction:
If a narcissist feels that his sexual needs are not being met, he may look for a new relationship.
7. When They Face Consequences:
Narcissists may reevaluate their behavior and may give up some manipulative strategies if their actions result in unfavorable outcomes, such as legal troubles or reputational harm..
However, each person and each relationship may have their own circumstances and factors.
For each individual, the decision to give up or end a relationship is the result of an interaction between various factors and cannot be reduced to a few simple factors.
